There's always someone in the party, either standing alongside their comrades or standing back watching the battlefield, who is encouraging their party to do well or discouraging the enemy. This is the Preacher.
By focusing on using Boons like Bolster, Heal and Banes like Demoralize. This role will grant advantage to their allies and disadvantage to their enemies. I decided that the best way to express this is by also putting some points into Prescience so that it has a a 'feeling' of where the attacks will be coming from, or where the best place is to strike. This 'feeling' is really the core of the character so I also used this as an excuse to show off another unique feat of Open Legend... Attribute Substitution.
When you take this feat, you create a permanent link between two attributes: one stronger (the primary attribute) and one weaker (the dependent attribute). You may use your primary attribute in place of the dependent attribute for different purposes depending on which tier of the feat you have:
- Tier 1
- Making non-attack, non-invocation action rolls
- Calculating hit points, defenses, and other secondary statistics
- Meeting feat prerequisites
- Other situations at the GM's discretion
- Tier 2
- Making attack action rolls
- Invoking banes and boon.
The other Feat in this build is Hospitalier. This feat really helps you help other players when they get Banes placed upon them.
You can use a major action to give an ally an immediate resist roll (a free action for the ally) with advantage 1. Additionally, you gain advantage 1 any time you attempt to invoke the restoration boon.
SO yeah, that is the Preacher role in a nutshell, I've completed the rest of the roles. I just have to write about them on here then its onto actually making them into the Pregens.
Peace out Nerds!
